the usual

Guys, I told you, I'm getting super boring right now. It's cold and I just want to be warm. Looking cute is at the bottom of my list right now. Is this what they call "letting yourself go?" I'm just ecstatic that I didn't wear workout clothes to the grocery store today. It gives off the impression that I just worked out, when really I just didn't brush my hair. The grocery store employees were probably just glad to see that I actually wear real clothes; I think they're catching on to my shenanigans. Spring will be here before we know it. We can do this!

layered

I've been loving the look of layering bulky sweaters under a shorter cropped jacket, like this leather one. It keeps you super warm while also staying somewhat edgy. This particular day was the coldest one we had yet and this layering method worked like a charm. It wasn't five minutes after these photos that we realized I had locked us out of the car, with the car running! It's not the first time I've done that, but people, it got cold fast and everything was relatively warm, minus my hands and face. And I thought my husband could have strangled me, lucky for you guys and me, he kept his composure and the police rescued us. I'm sure they thought we were weirdos. Did I mention that I wore this to the Maroon 5 concert!! You can be a little bit jealous, I would.

bundled up

To say it's cold here in Georgia would be a very true statement. These are the times I wish I was a bear and that it was acceptable to hibernate. Although, I'm trying my best to stay inside everyday. I had all intentions of publishing this post yesterday evening, but we lost power last night for a little over three hours and by that point I was like...ehh. I chose to catch up on the Bachelor and go to bed instead. You'll forgive me, right? This is always the time of year when I have to start getting creative with outfits. What I really want to do is just wear my favorite boots, jeans, and the biggest, fluffiest sweater that I have. So, I'm trying to incorporate other pieces, such as this leather skirt, into the mix. How do you guys change up your outfits when the weather gets the best of you??

valentine's day kimono

I'm always a day late and a dollar short when it comes to trends. This is my very first kimono and now I feel like my life is changed forever. This thing is amazing!! Why hasn't anyone told me about this?! I just know I'm going to be living in them this spring and summer. This floral and fringe kimono had me at hello! And I was all like...HELLO! If I had to chose one outfit for a casual Valentine's date, this is it! It's cute, comfortable, I'm wearing stripes, and there's not much more to say about that. What plans do you guys have for Valentine's Day??

back in black

The first week of February kicked my butt you guys. I was seriously down for the count. Strep throat is crazy; I thought I'd never be able to move my neck or eat again. Dramatic, but in the moment, it felt so real. Hence the reason my posts were scarce, and really didn't exist at all. Thankful for good medicine, good sleep, and a good husband. I'm back, in black of course, refreshed, and so thrilled that Valentine's Day is this week! Who's with me??

february goals

I feel like I've already made a big dent in my goals for the year 2015. The best way to keep yourself accountable to set smaller goals each month to stay focused and maybe work on smaller things that you want to accomplish as well. February is one of my favorites months, probably because it's all pink, red, and adorable hearts. How could you not love it?

Here are my goals for the month:

1) Add one addition to our home decor.

2) Make a Valentine's Day dessert.

3) Read a new book.

4) Start the e-course Capture Real Life in 52 Weeks.

5) Try a new restaurant.
