As you could probably tell, I took the whole last week off to spend it in my PJ's with friends and family. And it was so awesome to just relax, barely get dressed, and spend time with the people that mean the most to me. It's so nice to unplug and be in the moment.

I'm so excited for the New Year and I have some lofty goals for the year that I'll be sharing with you on Thursday, who's already made their list?? Big picture goals are a great way to challenge yourself and keep yourself accountable all year round, PLUS you get to do things you've always wanted to!

In honor of the New Year, I'm recapping some of my favorites outfits from the past year! Enjoy!

holiday outfit inspiration

I love holiday wear. It's the perfect reason to wear lots and lots of sparkles and sequins. Christmas is this week, wowza! These pieces would be great for any other holiday parties you have to attend, Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas Day, or for New Year's. I want all of these things in my closet right now! I hope this inspires you and that your week is full of all things family, friends, food, and hopefully a few sequins.

office cozy

Just because you work in an office doesn't mean you have to sacrifice comfort. For me, the more comfortable I am, the more I get done. And let's be honest, it's always freezing in an office, so a big chunky sweater makes complete sense. When shopping for office attire recently, I've tried to look for easy, basic pieces, like this dress. I looked at this dress about five times before I actually pulled the trigger and I'm so glad I did. I want to wear it to work everyday! If there's something on your mind that you've been thinking about purchasing, and you think about it over and over, just do it, buy it, yolo.
Another quick observation, Christmas is 9 days away, where has the year gone people! I love the Christmas season and I'm not ready for it to end. This is the time to break out your sequins and festive sweaters, don't let it pass you by!

faux fur and stripes

I thought leopard heels would be perfect for this outfit. Then I asked my husband's opinion and even if you put the ugliest crocs up against cute leopard heels, he'll never pick the heels. But this striped sweater, this sweater will win against anything. Everybody loves stripes and denim. I picked up this sweater on sale this summer and I've been hoarding it ever since. There's not many things I hoard, but sweaters is one of them. I was waiting for the perfect day, so a Sunday date night was it. And I feel like I really don't need to talk up this scarf, you see it; therefore, you know.

plaid on plaid

This has easily become one of my favorite dresses that I own. The first time I wore it was on this blog post. How can you not love black, white, and plaid? You don't have to answer that. To be real with you, this scarf is so huge that I actually could probably wear it as a dress if I learned how to finagle it the right way. I totally just used the word finagle, don't try to check my spelling either, already Googled, it's right. What did we ever do without Google in our lives you guys. I'm serious, I've Googled some crazy stuff. Google's like a friend that thinks they know everything, except Google really does know everything. It's mind-blowing really. Back to the scarf, it's cute, right? It's also warm, in style, and doubles as a blanket, oh and it was eight dollars! Whoop, there it is. (90's song reference for those who were confused).

Velvet is really popular right now and I'm not hating it. I figured December is the only month I can wear velvet plus an embellished vintage blazer and get away with it. At least, I think I'm getting away with it. I originally had on leather leggings with this outfit, but I totally looked like I just walked out of a 1980's dance party. I didn't hate that either, but the bare legs was a way better option. Plus, it's still warm enough for bare legs, and any time it's warm enough for bare legs, I'll take advantage of it. That is, if my legs are shaved.
