may goals

I love the idea of setting goals every month. I usually think of ALL these things that I want to do, but I never write them out, which usually means I hardly ever follow through. I think there's something to be said about setting goals for yourself, keeping accountability, and then reaching those goals. So this month, and every month after, I hope to share my monthly goals with you, no matter how big or small. Goals are important, set them, fight for them, reach for them. It feels amazing to work towards something and see it come to life.

These are my goals for May: (keep my accountable you guys!)

1. Take more pictures

2. Run 3 miles without stopping (this is huge for me)

3. Pray, read, and learn with more intention

4. Be inspired

There's also some fun things coming for the blog in May, including a giveaway!! I'm super excited about that, you should be too! Stay tuned!

What are your goals for this month??

clog adventures

I took serious measures to get these clogs! By serious measures I mean, I pushed my best friend into a table and knocked over a whole stack of jeans to get to them. All to find out that they didn't have my size! So naturally, I stopped into the next Old Navy I saw and made a mad dash for the clogs. Minus the pushing and shoving, I'd say it was a successful day. A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do.

spring trends: pleats

I've been seeing pleats every where this season! I'm really loving it, and it can be super flattering if you find the right style! There's so many options to chose from that will fit whatever your specific style is, solids, stripes, and florals plus pleats, oh yes! Aren't those J.Crew floral shorts adorable?! Try out this trend this spring, you won't regret it! What style is your favorite?

leather whenever

I was regretting not wearing this dress on the blog this winter. I guess mother nature thought the same, sure enough, a cold spell came through. People, it's mid April and I feel like winter's never going to leave. As soon as I knew it was going to be colder, I jumped at the chance to wear my leather dress!

The first time I wore it, it was still pretty hot out, and let's just say...bad things were happening. Leather plus sweat, does not mix! I repeat, leather is only meant for cold weather. All of this to say, dress meet blog. I'm sure you'll be the best of friends.

spring trends: pastels

Oh, pastels, you have my heart. This is a color trend that always screams, "lady like," in my opinion. The soft hues are perfect for the spring and summer! They even look good all together. There's nothing like soft, airy, light tones to set the mood for the season. I'm loving all of these pastel choices above, but there are SO many out there to choose from. Are you a fan of pastels??

spring trends:floral

floral prints

I can never have enough floral! If it looks like a print your grandma would wear, I would most likely love it. This trend has been around a long while and I'm hoping it never goes out of style! I really don't foresee that happening, but what do I know. I'll still be wearing head to toe floral, regardless of the trend. I'm currently trying to talk my husband into letting me buy a floral comforter for our bed, for the spring, he's not having it! He says he hates flowers because it reminds him of grandma's, which is fine by me.

How cute is that pink, floral midi skirt??? That print is spot on folks, spot on. What about you, are you loving or hating florals?

same shoes different day

I'm so glad it's finally warm enough to wear these shoes, now I'm definitely over doing it! The chunky heel makes them pretty comfortable and easy to wear. The neutral color combo makes them easy to wear with every single thing! I've been seeing this style of peep toe booties everywhere for this spring! Let's be honest, it's a pretty solid trend, that I hope sticks around a while. Who's with me on that?

I also want to point out that I got this skirt for $5 at a thrift store, good finds like this never happen to me! And then it did. What a glorious day!

Thursday, April 3, 2014

Let me brag. This post is all about husband, just preparing you! He bought me these shoes and this bag, which are both amazing, but that's pretty obvious. He's the absolute best. Not just because he buys me things, even though that's a great quality to have in a man (ladies). But he's the best because he listens, he's patient, he's funny, he cares, and he knows I enjoy receiving articles of clothing and accessories as gifts. I'm not going to get too sappy in this post. Sunday is our one year wedding anniversary, so I'll get real sappy then. You would like that wouldn't you.

I literally stalked and stared and wished and wanted and all of the above and below for well over a year for this bag. It's so beautiful, so classic, so useful, and I know I'll use it for a long, long time! My favorite thing about it is that it's just one big hole to throw all my stuff in, there's no better handbag. What's your favorite handbag??
