party

There's something about black and white stripes that attracts me, maybe a little too much attraction and I've been trying to cut back on buying any stripes at all, but then I saw this little gem and I couldn't resist. I mean, who doesn't want to be all business and stripes in the front and a party and a bow in the back?! When I came home with this top and showed my husband the first thing he said was, "Oh, Beatle Juice, eh?" ...who knows, I could probably start a whole separate blog called, "Things my husband says about my outfit," and it would probably be pretty entertaining.

on repeat

I'm obsessed with these shorts! I'm basically wearing pajama shorts and maybe I should feel bad about it, but I don't..at all. I have a feeling these are going to be my go to shorts this summer when I'm not feeling like getting dressed. And here I am in my vest again...what can I say, it's becoming a summer staple for me. I advise you all to get one!

vest quest

So, a denim vest can go two ways...or maybe more, most of the ways aren't good. Just for this reason I was on the quest for a denim vest for a very long time. They were either too distressed, too light, too cropped, and the list goes on. Then I saw this one, which basically looks like I cut the sleeves off my beloved denim jacket. I officially love it and it's a great way to add a little something to any outfit!

Side Note: NO denim jackets were harmed in the making of this post.

lady like life: recently

This is a little bit of a different post for me. You know, starting this blog was something that I always wanted to do. I wanted to make a place where my friends, family, and even strangers could come and read and hopefully enjoy something mindless and that takes little thought. So many times in life, we always have something on our mind or on our hearts and it's just so nice to come to a place and indulge in something that doesn't take a lot of thought, a lot of work, a lot of time, that's not super thought provoking, or super deep; I wanted somewhere that was simple, fun, and provided a little insight to somebody else's life, since we are most of the time so focused on our own. I think we all deserve that.

But I also want you to know that there's a deeper side to this blog as well. Even though I love clothes and love sharing them with you there's so much more to life, as you know. I think being married forces you to learn so much about life, but there's one thing I've been learning a lot of recently. And that's how to be thankful. I admit, it's hard for me to do consistently, especially since our world is all about getting more, more, more and getting better at everything. It took me a while to realize how ungrateful I really was being. But now, I love that our walls are empty and that since we've been married our dresser consist of a broken cardboard box and a few extra laundry baskets. I love that we chose adopting a sweet, fluffy kitten before we bought more home decor or furniture. I love that my husband spent $20 on two buffalo steaks, just so we could try something different. I'm thankful that Logan loves my cooking even though I burn the bottom of every single pot we have, which isn't many. I'm learning to be thankful for the little things like waking up early, coffee in the morning, nights at home with just us two, true friends, good weather, food on the table, and a roof over our head. We so easily forget about what we have because we are always so focused on what we want. To be honest, I struggle with it everyday and probably will always, but lately I've been making it a priority to be thankful for it all. I've come to see over and over that comparing your life and things to others or wishing you had more of something never produces happiness, it only makes you miserable. So here's to choosing to be thankful and happy...and actually having to think during this blog post today :)

all dressed up

Sunday was one of my favorite days in a while! Logan and I planned to spend it together doing all the things we love. We went to church, ate brunch, went to the beach, went to get a kitten only to find out they were closed (that was the bad part of the day) and ate dinner with friends. Don't you just love those kind of days..good day, good outfit, what else can I say.
