romp around

There's nothing like a successful Saturday off with good weather and friends, that's exactly what our Saturday consisted of. This romper was the right choice because it was breezy, cute, and comfortable! We ate a yummy lunch, strolled around the park at an art festival, bought a couch, went to the mall, and bought groceries..and the romper withstood it all! Need I say more? Start rompin' ladies!

flash back

It was only a month or two ago that I was on the phone with my best friend while shopping, just talking about life and such. We were discussing how it appears as if "ripped" jeans are coming back in style.

Now let's flash back 10 years or so to middle school. Ripped jeans were the stuff back them ya'll! Except with everything we wore them with, we made them look worse! Looking at ripped jeans instantly gives me flash backs of awkward middle school events, my awkward body (possibly still exists), and we can't forget the braces I rocked for 5 years straight! So this is where my hesitation to wear distressed jeans stems from.

Then, I tried on these little gems...and back to middle school I went, except I went happily this time.

just a dress

Lets talk about the power of a dress, shall we? One perfect dress can do some life changing things! It can turn heads, help you land a job, bond with a stranger, give you something to share with a friend...or in my case, take stress off of figuring out what to wear on a morning I'm running late...which happens to be every morning... Lately, I've discovered the beauty of wearing a dress! It's SO incredibly easy and we all need to do it more often! Don't you wish we wore big, girly dresses with corsets and big hats like women used to do! Now THAT would be ladylike! Agreed?

simple

So correct me if I'm wrong, but I think my style is really simple for the most part. I mean, I don't usually do anything too fancy or try to do more then I should. And...I think I'm OK with that. I love that everyone's style is different and that we can get as creative as we want. My favorite expression of myself is clothing, and you always want to express YOU, no one else.

This outfit was simple, 3 pieces. A top, a skirt, shoes. I need to wear these pieces more often, but I literally love them so much that I only wear them on special occasions. To me, they are all so simple that they can be extremely versatile! Time to get creative, Caroline!

As a side note, I'm cooking through a cookbook, for a whole year. Today was the first night. I was terrified, but it turned out amazing. We had penne all norma with fennel and eggplant. It sounds fancy, you know me, always fancy. Really though, it was easy! I hope to share some of my cooking successes and failures with you guys on the blog! :)

honeymoon style

Hey y'all! I'm back and ready to rock my marriage and this blog with awesome style! So, I only documented two outfits from my honeymoon, this being one of them. Mainly because the rest of the time I wore a bikini on the beach and/or pool or athletic wear while ziplining and riding ATV's, I didn't think you guys would care about that, although I will post some honeymoon pictures soon. We seriously had the best honeymoon, minus a few nights of sickness and leaving my computer on a shuttle bus! We ate twice our body weight in food, got a good tan, and did some adventure outings! We are happy to be back, but this is when we get back to real life and marriage starts getting real!

I wore this dress to dinner on the third night! I love the pop of the neon at the shoulders, it's trendy, without being too loud and bright! Also, these shoes have a little story behind them. Last year, I wanted cork peep toe heels SO bad! I looked...and looked...and looked, then one day I strolled into Nine West and saw these little gems, on sale! They go with everything!! I will say, they're definitely not dinner and dancing shoes...just dinner, but the small foot pain is worth it to wear these cork beauties!
